So it's about that time (already?!) in my high-school career when I go road-tripping around to visit colleges. Over the last few weeks, I got the chance to travel to Boston, MA. Aside from visiting MIT as one of the many anxious hopefuls sitting in an admissions info session, I got a chance to go visit the MIT Museum, where many well-known robots that have long inspired my projects and aspirations are housed. One of my favorites that I got to see was Kismet, the main source of inspiration for my Affective Robot (who I decided to name "ERN-E", pronounced "Ernie," by the way). |
In addition, I got to see a toddler robot that learns to walk on its own, matchbox-sized trackbots, and a crazy-looking hexapod. I also saw several more well-known robots that I've read about and only dreamed of actually seeing, but alas, I forgot to photograph them.
